ShareFor Eyiye, a student of a university in the South-South, Abuja appeared to be the best place to prostitute in order to make fast money to pay for handouts and stay comfortable in school.

Eyiye’s dreams is  in line with other female students of similar thoughts in various universities close to the Federal Capital Territory, who troop into Abuja on weekends and pair- up in hotel rooms in order to share the cost of the fee.

Some guest inns at Kubwa, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Mpape and Masaka are places where such students showcase their bodies and make quick money by sleeping with men for money in return. An investigation by our reporters last weekend showed that in cases where such students have made arrangements with the guest inn owners, they pay more for their rooms when checking out but in other situations where they have to use the hotel rooms for their business, their male lovers pay N500 to take the room for an hour or N3,000 for the night.

For sex, the girls charged their ‘customers’ between N2,000 and N10,000, depending on the services rendered, as short time goes for N2,000 or N3,000, while till day break is between N4,000 and N10,000.

Eyiye dreamt of such easy money and stormed Abuja. Her tactics of attracting men was to dress seductively and hang around high profile supermarkets.

While displaying her assets, a customer who appeared responsible, parked by her side to chat her up and negotiated N4,000 to have sex with her till day break.

The two new found lovers drove off to a three-storey hotel building at Jabi, where the man had booked a room on the last floor.

Eyiye said the man had rough sex with her throughout the night and went up to five rounds before opening the day for another man to mount her without negotiation.

She said her pretence of being tired and weak made them shift attention off her and engage in a discussion in their local dialect, which she perfectly understood.

“They did not know that I understand Rivers language and I overheard the man who slept with me say that I have the type of private part Alhaji demanded for and he must go to him to collect a charm to weaken me. The man who described me as stubborn, said after I am weak, they will cut off my private part and take it to Alhaji,” the student said.

She said after the discussion, the man asked his friend to sleep with her in order to examine her private part and later locked both of them inside the room before leaving to the said Alhaji’s place.

The student said as the other man was pestering her for sex, she became frightened and thought hard of a trick for a while and later told him to help her fill hot water inside a bucket in the bathroom so that she can press her body.

“That was the only opportunity I had to save my life and the only thought that came to my mind was to grab the blanket from the bed to cover my nakedness, which I did and I jumped out of the window from the third floor,” she added.

At the hotel, a securityman there disclosed that the sound made from her crash to the ground made him alongside other security men rush to the direction of the sound, where they saw the student wriggling in pains.

“The fall weakened her bowels and she defecated on her body and was in pains,” the guard said. He said the student immediately told him what happened and the number of the room she jumped from, which made them send immediately for the police.

“As soon as the police arrived, we forced our way into the room and met a man inside searching for the girl, while the other man was apprehended as we were taking the other person to the police station,” the guard said.

After the lucky escape from death, Eyiye’s trouble was not over as a crowd that rushed to see her at the Gwarinpa Hospital rained abuses on her for engaging in prostitution. “The man use you finish and he no give you money,” a hospital staff said.

Another female staff said it is girls like the victim who bring shame to women folks and cause problems between married women and their husbands. “Thank God for saving your life and turn to him for forgiveness,” a nurse said. When it was time to pay the hospital bill, the victim could not pay N4,000 for an injection given to her, which resulted to more nasty comments on her.

A doctor at the hospital said the student broke her waist, joints and was transferred to another hospital. The police lady attached with the victim appeared stranded and used her money to transport the victim to the hospital she was transferred to. A week after Eyiye escaped from the suspected ritualists, another suspected call-girl was found dead in a room at Mabushi.

Our reporters learnt that a jam lock was fitted to the room door which made the assailant sneak into the room, perfect his act and jam the door before escaping.

“The call-girl’s corpse decomposed and was emitting offensive odour, which made people break into the room to discover the corpse,” a witness said.  At Kubwa last year, a lady was found dead after being stabbed on the neck. She was stabbed and left to bleed to death after her lover locked her inside the room.

The police at Kubwa arrested a civil servant as a suspect who is presently undergoing prosecution in an Abuja High Court.

In other cases, some unlucky ladies, whose identities in certain cases could not be traced, had their lifeless bodies dumped years ago along the Abuja-Keffi expressway.

FCT Police Spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, a superintendent, condemned the act of prostitution and disclosed that those arrested by the police are immediately charged to court and prosecuted.
