ShareThe Federal Government has denied plans to either jettison or scale down the 7-point agenda, now or in future, as started by late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.Minister of state for Information and Communication Mr Labaran Maku disclosed this while briefing State House correspondent at the end of yesterday Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja.
He said the report carried in some national dailies that a memo was to be presented at the FEC meeting in that regard was not true.
“We want to tell you frankly speaking that that story was untrue, this administration has never contemplated to jettison the 7-point agenda. In fact we don’t know where these newspapers got this story,” the minister said.
Maku said “What the administration has done is to continuously look at ways of improving the 7-point agenda and ensuring that the implementation of the agenda is carried out.”
Meanwhile, the federal government says this year’s Democracy Day will be low-keyed in honour of late President Umaru Yar’adua.
