ShareBauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda said he has never described any state in the country as a crises ridden one and has never blamed any state for blowing-up the number of refugees in his state.
Yuguda’s denial was contained in a statement yesterday by his spokesman, Ishola Michael Adeyemi.
It said, “Our attention has been drawn to media reports credited to Jigawa State Government stating that our recent statement that Bauchi state has over one million internally displaced persons (IDPs) taking refuge at various towns and villages in the state referred to Jigawa State as a crises ridden one.
“What we said in the referred interview was that Bauchi is bordered by six states including Kano and Jigawa in the North West, Plateau in the North Central and Gombe, Borno, Adamawa and Taraba in the North East. We did not make particular reference to any state as crises-ridden and not that Jigawa state as one of the states where the refuges were received.”
