Mensah – I am feeling better

Ghana captain John Mensah claims he making progress in the treatment room after sustaining a thigh injury.

The powerful centre back picked up the problem during the Black Stars’ opening 1-0 win over Botswana, a match in which he scored the only goal and was later sent off for a professional foul.

Mensah missed the team's preparations for the clash against Mali on Saturday and is yet to return to full scale training.

The Olympique Lyon player was involved in low runs with physical instructor Grbovic Miljan on Sunday morning.

"I’m feeling better with each passing day. The doctor said after the scan in Libreville that it is a minor injury,” Mensah said.

“I'm undergoing treatment and he said that in no time I will be back playing again."

Mensah has also served his ban after receiving a red card against Botswana.
