Opponents prepare differently for Ghana

assistant coach Kwasi Appiah believes opponents change their mentality and
prepare differently when playing against Ghana.
On
Sunday, he expects the same from Tunisia in Ghana’s Africa Nations Cup quarterfinal
clash.
The
ex-international defender made the statement following Ghana's unimpressive 1-1
draw with Guinea in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations final Group D match.
The
four-time winners are yet to produce championship-winning football despite
topping their group unbeaten and conceding just one goal.
Appiah
believes Ghana's recent successes at international competitions have made them
a target for many national teams.
"The
name of Ghana rose so high after the World Cup and therefore teams coming to
play against us come in with very high motivation," he said.
"Everybody
coming to play Ghana all of the sudden prepares very differently and comes in
with a different mentality because they believe they are coming up against the
best in Africa."
Ghana
must now beat Tunisia in Sunday's last quarterfinal clash in Franceville to
enter the medal zone.
The
Black Stars won silver at the last edition in Angola two years ago.
