9ja Twins Festival for Sept 18

THIS year’s multiple birth children’s socio-cultural fiesta, Nigeria Twin Festival has been scheduled to hold at the main bowl of the Oyo State Cultural Centre, Mokola Hill, Ibadan, on Saturday, September 18, 2010.
The event, which maiden’s edition attracted the likes of the deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Alhaji Tai Sikiru Lawal; Oba Lamidi Olayiwola, Alaafin of Oyo and other prominent Nigerians, including musicians, comedians and international organisations, also played host to hundreds of multiple birth children amidst fun and spectacular performances.
However, the second edition, according to the initiator of 9ja twins festival, Kehinde and Taiwo Oguntayo, “this edition would be a far departure from the maiden edition because the success of the former has ignited the interest of all and sundry.
“We have started putting plans together to see that our counterparts in other parts of the world, who signified interest to participate in this year’s edition have started negotiation and discussion on the features of the festival and ways of seeking international sponsorships.”
The initiators also said they were preparing for the American edition which has been slated to hold middle of August 2010.
