A mini-Argungu international fishing and cultural festival has been
scheduled to hold tomorrow, at the Gurbin Ko-kuwa, Augie Local
Government Area of Kebbi State.
According to a press release signed by the Director-General of Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, Alhaji Abubakar Ladan, the 2011 festival was a stop-gap to the main festival, which could not hold this year due to the ongoing political campaign activities.
The statement added that the one day festival was organised with a view to maintaining the good relations with their sponsors, among whom were Maltina, MTN, tourism stakeholders and numerous fishermen participating in the event.
The director-general of the festival said the Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Alhaji Abubakar Sadeeq, would be the special guest of honour on the occasion.
The event, according to the release, would be held at Gurkin Kokuwa, near Argungu town.
